Touchstone Climbing Inc. is arguably the best-known indoor climbing operation in the world. With seven gyms in Northern California, we are the biggest company in country and have hosted more national accredited roped climbing competitions than any other organization. But our true success comes not from what we do, but why we do it. From owners to belay staff, route setters to instructors, we believe in creating a place where we can all come together and do what we love. We are not just gyms. We are communities. Some call it 'The Power Company.' Some call it 'GW.' And others just call it the latest and greatest thing to hit uptown Oakland in recent years. Built in an old power building, we've transformed this historic structure into a state-of-the-art indoor climbing gym. But of course one remnant remains: the smokestack! Rising 150 feet above downtown Oakland, the walls wrap around the stack to create a unique indoor climbing experience. There is a high percentage of easy and moderate terrain, and tons of variety to keep you challenged and enthused. If you prefer not to rope up, we also have an awesome bouldering area with lots of problems to challenge you at any skill level.
